In May, 2000 Control Informacao e Documentacao (a Brazilian information and documentation company) released Project Oraculo, a technical qualification program that has as main objective to share updated information to the CDS/Isis users community. So far, Project Oraculo has been responding to thousands of requests about many aspects of CDS/Isis family softwares.
Therefore, it was possible to understand that these requests follow some patterns and some aspects of knowledge that are more required than others. Because of this, it has been decided to invest in developing a system to store the most required information, in order to make the job of support
experts easy and to offer a new service to the CDS/Isis users community.
Due to its characteristics the new system was called Thot, the ancient egypt god of wisdom and written registers. In Thot Database it is possible to find information abou t applications and their different versions, manuals, programming tips
and problems solutions. The system is at its final stage of development and it would be available by August, 2005. To increase the number of participants the information will be published in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
