This is a cooperative project which, at present, holds 170.000 records of argentine periodicals on economy and social science. It is available at http://cdi.mecon.gov.ar/unired/unired.html.
It brings together four databases:
-Bibliographic: It contains the bibliographic records of argentine periodicals, both open and closed. It is based on the CEPAL database structure for bibliographic records.
-Institutional: It contains information related to the 95 institutions that have participated in the project, such as their names and addresses. [ [p />
-Related to the periodical as whole: It contains information such as periodical primary category, stock, and acronym of the institution that holds it. It also details the name of the .jpg file containig the the image of the first issue.
-Related to the history and other data of the periodical: It contains a brief history of each periodical. Because of format restrictions on the amount of characters on the Web, only html records created from cisis scripts are published.
During the last part of the first stage, the bibliographical and institutional databases were implemented with a WebLis query module.
During the second stage, currently in process, the bibliographical database is up-dated and histories and images of the covers are added. The WebLis query module has been adapted to enable searches in each field of the bibliographical and institutional record.
